About the Sharecropper

The Sharecropper Kitchen

The Sharecropper article  by Liz Dodder sums it up nicely…

I love food. And cooking. Particularly over fire. I am also a winemaker, a photographer, and an all around jack-of-all-trades.

Biscuits and southern food are a passion of mine in a huge way.

All of the photos you see were taken by me unless otherwise indicated.

I am originally from the south. I was born in Biloxi Mississippi. However, I have lived all over the US and have lived in around 20 states. I have traveled to all except Alaska, Hawaii, and North Dakota. Which I aim to correct someday.

I have had many occupations. I started assisting my father with his photography business when I was 10. My first real job was a backcountry guide/survival instructor/rock climbing, whitewater, caving guide. I have been a baker, barista, body guard, bouncer, tattoo artist, handyman, auto mechanic, wine guide, set dresser, software tester, trout hatchery manager, antiques dealer, leathersmith, bike mechanic, ocean kayaking guide/instructor…anyway you get the idea.

My passions: my daughter, feeding people, food, motorcycles, sailing, wine, music, photography, chickens, growing food, the impending and very eagerly anticipated Zombie Apocalypse…
